Geriatric Nurse Practitioner: working in Long Term Care with various mental health issues with aging, primarily dementia. I had spent many years working in various forms of adult critical care prior to returning to school to obtain my master's degree.

Caregiving Experience:
I assisted my elderly mother in caring for my father who was slowly dying of congestive heart failure and end stage coronary artery disease over a two-half year period. Afer his death, I became my mother's caregiver for six months while she recovered from an extensive illness. During this time I finishing graduate school and taking care of my two small daughters who were age six months and three years at the start of my journey.
