Area of Expertise:
1) care of people with Alzheimer's disease and other dementias in the community setting; 2) the impact of long-term caregiving on caregivers' psychological and physical health; 3) interventions to support family caregivers; and 4) use of home and community-based services to support family caregiving.

Caregiving Experience:
Cared for my mother who had emphysema and macular degeneration. My mother and our family had a wonderful experience with hospice services.

Fun Fact about me:
I love to dance. My latest passion has been taking Flamenco dance classes.

Profile:
Judy McCann is is a nurse who specializes in working with older adults. She is affiliated with Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, IL. She is a Professor in the College of Nursing and a Research Scientist with the Rush Institute for Healthy Aging, a multidisciplinary research group whose broad mission is to study health problems of older adults. For the past 15 years, Judy has worked with family caregivers of people with Alzheimer's disease and other dementias.
