On the national level, she has formed key relationships with organizations, and experts who provide information and resources for family caregivers.
Ms. Carlson received her BS degree in social work from Minnesota State University of Mankato. Using professional and theoretical knowledge and skills, she has developed programs and services for victims of domestic violence and for those who are homeless, depressed and bereaved.
Carolyn has held hospice positions as the coordinator of bereavement at District One Hospital in Faribault, MN and at Immanuel St. Joseph’s/Mayo Health Systems of Mankato, MN. Carolyn Carlson was the executive producer for the Midwest Caregiver magazine and broadcast in August of 2008. She was responsible for the content framework of the Midwest Caregiver magazine and broadcast, recruiting national healthcare experts to complement family caregiving stories. She played a vital role of taking the regional magazine, Midwest Caregiver and prepared the magazine to re-launch as Caregiving in America.
