Area of Expertise:
Damon has lobbyed for elder care issues with state representatives regarding budget and access to services. He has published several articles, "What is a Caregiver?", "Caregiver Stress", "Caregiving and Alzheimer's Disease" and has 3 outstanding publications for the LGBT Journal of Health Research and the Alzheimer's Quarterly Journal in progress.

Caregiving Experience:
Damon was a full time caregiver for his mother who had many chronic diseases as well as Alzheimer's disease. He dedicated 7 years of his life to her needs. He is a staunch advocate of enhancing the quality of life and independence for caregivers and their families.

Profile:
Damon is a full-time Family Caregiver Advisor with Boston Senior Home Care. He provides caregiver assessments and facilitates caregiver support groups.

Damon is instrumental in assisting families find quality assisted living and long-term care as needed. He is a Certified Alzheimer's Trainer through the Massachusetts Alzheimer's Association. He teaches the 12 Hour Habilitation Therapy training to Boston Senior Home Care staff as well as habilitative techniques to caregivers as needed.

Currently Damon is finishing up his dissertation for a PhD in Public Health.
