He is president of Carnegie-Sargent’s Pharmacy and Health Center, where he acts as a clinical pharmacist generalist. Mark is committed to helping his clients obtain optimal health and well-being.
Founded in 1852, Carnegie-Sargent’s Pharmacy and Health Center has provided quality customer-oriented care for more than a century. It offers the products of a traditional pharmacy and the services of a progressive wellness center. Products include a wide range of over-the-counter medications, home medical supplies, durable equipment, health and beauty aids, and natural products. In addition to filling prescriptions, the willing staff provides guidance to help clients identify options for satisfying their health care needs.
Mark recognizes the complimentary relationship between Nutrition, Fitness, Medication, Self-Care and optimal health. Therefore, in 1996, he created Integrated Health Care Systems, a health promotion, disease prevention and disease management company. Providers at Integrated are chosen very carefully for their interest in developing lasting relationships. Mark puts a heavy emphasis on building in quality assurances that allow the company and it’s providers focus on the ultimate goal of optimizing health throughout every stage of life.
Also in 1996, Mark received the Innovative Practice Award from the Illinois Pharmacist Association for transforming a traditional pharmacy into the health care center Carnegie-Sargent’s is today. The third element of this center is Water Tower Nursing and Home Care, of which Mark serves as president. Water Tower Nursing and Home Care is a team of home care professionals and caregivers dedicated to providing hands on support for persons who want to maintain an undiminished quality of life. The objective of this care is to ensure the clients comfort, security, privacy and dignity; whether it is in the client’s home, in an assisted living environment or a health facility. At Water Tower Nursing and Home Care, Mark's supervisors are particularly attuned to the importance of the client-caregiver relationship. They recognize that each client has their own unique needs and preferences. The team pays particular attention to those factors that can affect the matching process. Mark wants his clients to feel secure and comfortable with the special bond they form with their caregiver.

In addition to his business endeavors, Mark is a Clinical Instructor at the University of Illinois (Chicago) College of Pharmacy and an Adjunct Clinical Instructor at Midwestern University’s Chicago College of Pharmacy in Downers Grove, Ill.

Mark received a Bachelor of Science degree in pharmacy from the University of Wisconsin at Madison. He is a licensed pharmacist in Illinois, Arizona, and Nevada.
