She was a caregiver for her mother as a child, her brother with mental illness. When her father-in-law had a stroke in Oregon, Maria saw the need for clear simple information for caregivers and in 1998 published the first edition of The Comfort of Home.

Fun Fact about me:
Maria has 7 year old identical twin grand-daughters who live in Paris, as well as 2 other super cute grandchildren. Enjoys gardening, tai chi, dancing and anything Latin because she lived in Rio de Janiero and Miami for many years.

Maria is President of CareTrust, publisher of The Comfort of Home caregiver training series. As a workshop leader, and a powerful, energetic speaker, ignites caregivers with tools to develop an outlook of strength and peace of mind, no matter what external events arise.
