I like many of us have experience in being a family care giver. This has been both a blessed and positive experence as well as stressful. The blessings have outweighed the frustrations, even though at the time I may have not realized it.
In retrospect I am thankful to have had the opportunity. I often said to myself during the timeof providing care, "what do persons that are not knowledgeable of resources do, and where do they turn"?
The main message I give to a caregiver is "be good to yourself". I know this may sound like an age old comment but it is so true.
